Yahoo guilty of Copyright infringements

It seems that Yahoo China is in breach of some copyright laws, which involve the Yahoo China music search and concerns deep linking to sites that offer pirated music.

The Yahoo China is not wholly owned by Yahoo itself, but still the site has been reported to the authorities in China and even a court in Beijing has stated that the site has been violating Chinese law on the grounds of mass copyright infringements.

Yahoo has initially appealed against this court action, but this has now been dismissed. It’s a sorry time for Yahoo; this business does nothing to build confidence, but is a search engine responsible for the content on sites that link to the listings?
