Microsoft new products more secure

In its third report on viruses, spyware, malware, trojans and root kits the Microsoft Security Intelligence Report which covers the first half of this year has shown that the information that the company receives back from the Malicious Software Removal Tool shows that Windows Vista and Windows XP SP2 had much lower infection rates than the older Microsoft operating systems.

Although having said that the reports also mentions that there were some 3,500 software vulnerabilities found in operating systems and third party software, this was during the same period. But if this is to be compared with 2003, the figure would have been more like 500, so it shows that over time this problem is getting worse.

Yet within Microsoft products there has been in decrease in the amount of vulnerabilities, which should continue, making the products safer and more secure.
