PDF’s can damage your computer

Since Friday there has been a whole load of emails being sent out to unsuspecting consumers, they look very similar to a credit card statement, but in fact do carry a very nasty surprise for whoever opens the PDF attachment. For once opened they begin to download software onto the machine.

The PDF comes as an attachment which is called “report.pdf” and the software download comes from servers in Sweden or Malaysia, however these are now being cleaned but that does not mean that the problem has been solved, far from it! This is a serious problem and should not be taken in a light hearted manner.

PDF’s are being used because normally the email programs do not filter PDF attachments, however Adobe have a security update that can update the users PDF program.
