Liverpool based Games Company sold to Sony

The owners of Evolution Studios have sold the business to Sony for £16 million. The business was started by Martin Kenwright, cousin of Theatre Producer and Everton Football Club owner Bill Kenwright and Ian Hetherington back in 1999.

The company’s top selling game “Motorstorm” has helped the business to achieve a turnover of over £10 million for this year. The game is a revolutionary rally type game that has superior graphics, such as while driving through mud the grooves left by the car remain as they would in a real rally racing conditions.

The company is expected to remain at its Runcorn location and no staff cutbacks are planned.
