Chrome and Linux nearly there

Ever since the Chrome browser from Google was launched user of Linux have been waiting for the chance to see what it would be like, unfortunately Chrome and Linux based operating systems like Ubuntu and Distro are simply unable to use the browser.

Despite the work being put in by the people at Google, it seems that a solution from there is not going to be happening very quickly.

However, for adventurous Linux users there is a way to make this possible, with the help from PPA getting Chrome is a real possibility now and here’s how:

You’ll need to add repositories, of course. They are (substitute jaunty or hardy if needed):

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/chromium-daily/ppa/ubuntu intrepid main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/chromium-daily/ppa/ubuntu intrepid main

Once they’ve been added, running sudo apt-get install chromium-browser in a terminal window will take care of the rest. After the package has finished installing, just type chromium-browser [enter] to fire it up.

There you go, Chrome on a Linux browser.
