Healthcard can be used worldwide
A GP surgery in London has begun to issue credit card sized data card which can contain all of the patients information, this would become very useful should the holder be involved in an accident or something. As all the emergency services would need to do is check the card and see the patients records. This could be done anywhere in the world, which is fantastic for travellers.
The Healthcard has been in development for three years and is now ready to be rolled out. The data stored can be anything from patient records, current medications and even copies of x-rays, the card can be read by any computer anywhere in the world.
The patient records are updated every time that the patient visit’s the surgery, so that way it is always up to date.
