No hard drive required

In the future, you will not need a massive hard drive inside your computer, because you can use Gdrive (Google Drive) the latest development from the search giant and probably the most anticipated product from them in a long time.

When this finally arrives, there could be a major shift by computer users on how they use their computers and what for. There is a thought that this is just another step forward by Google in their attempts to tackle Microsoft’s dominance of the operating systems market.

Gdrive is going to be a cloud type storage system where users will be able to access desktop files at anytime and any location. There is no doubt that this is going to come heavily laden with other Google services such as Gmail, Google Docs and Images etc.

The release for Gdrive is currently being estimated as sometime in 2009, but with no detailed information, we shall have to wait.
