iPhone is a gaming device too

Could owners of the Apple iPhone soon be able to play games through their TV’s? According to one developer that quit possibly could but would they really want to, that is the question that needs answering.

Apparently, there is a feature within their iPhone software, which allows the user to switch from playing a game on the small screen to playing it on the big screen.

The whole process is to do with a hidden MPTVoutWindow, with a little bit of adjusting and fiddling around with the API’s and TV version of a game can be made, although it is not really up to the standard required to play for any long time.

It is the iPhones accelerometer that gives input and steering, the game is routed through the video out cable into the TV. However, the games at the moment appear to run at twenty frames per second, while TV standard games usually run at thirty frames per second.
