Apple’s iPhone ad banned

Once again, an advert for the iPhone has fallen foul of the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) this is because it was found that the advert implied that the iPhone by Apple was actually faster than it really is.

The complaints started when the advert showed a person using the iPhone, they were scrolling through pages on the internet, which included Google Maps, and downloading files, consumers believed that this was misleading and the ASA agreed with them.

The adverts also repeated “Really Fast” over five times and for these reasons, the ASA felt that they had no other alternative but to ban the advert from being shown anymore.

On the other hand, Apple say that they were comparing the different technologies, 3G is much faster than 2G, but the advert is still believed to be misleading.
