A milestone for Apple

Apple must be in a mood for celebrating as for the very first time their computers have broken the eight per cent barrier for market share.

The research had been carried out by Net Applications, they surveyed over forty thousand websites in order establish a definitive account of what computers were visiting the sites and what operating system they were using.

Naturally, Windows still have the majority share with 90.3%, which is just slightly down on the previous month, but with the increase in computers opting to install Linux systems on their products and the rise in the Apple user, this would account for the down turn.

In the last couple of years Apple users have grown by an impressive three per cent, however these figures do include computers that do not access the internet.
