Visiting SL with your mind

Researchers at the Faculty of Science and Technology of Keio University have developed a remarkable piece of engineering with a device that can enable a disabled person to chat and walk around the Second Life site by simply using their brainwaves.

In a demonstration a forty one year old male who suffers from a muscle disorder was able to walk through the SL world, he headed over to a student at the Keio University and had a conversation by using the voice chat system.

For likes of us able bodied people, this may not seem too much, but for someone who is stuck at home suffering from an illness that leaves them unable to live a normal life, being able to walk around and talk to other is quite remarkable.
