Torrent fines not paid

This is a slightly worrying subject which seems to have made its way under the wire, but no more. It has been found that the in recent years the attempts of lawyers acting on behalf of the media companies who believe that they are in breach of copyright.

This information comes from Logistep who are an anti piracy tracking business, they pass the information over the law firm Davenport Lyons, who send threatening letters out to the unsuspecting computer users.

The law firm are threatening to take peoples homes away and other threats, while asking for around £600!

It may sound like extortion, but they claim to be working within the law. But it seems that threats is all that come, no action has been taken on any of the non payers, which begs the question, are they really working within the law, or just claiming that they are?
